Completing IRD debt cases and advice to clients regarding Tax structures. In April this role changed significantly, I replaced Hamish Conway as Managing Director after a poor financial result for the 2011 financial year. Hamish remained a director and was solely tasked with the marketing strategy implementation and finding new customers. All other aspects of the practice became my responsibility.In May 2011 I implemented a number of structural changes to the business. These consisted of downsizing the number of staff, moving to an operating model with labour intensive aspects of the compliance work being outsourced to contractors based in New Zealand and a number of minor changes to make the firm significantly more profitable.The changes at Five Plus have been a successful in increasing the profitability and cashflow of the practice. In the two and a half years that I was in "partnership" with Murray Deans we created a group of entities supplying a range of accounting and business services with a forecasted turnover for the 2011 financial year in excess of $3.2m, 32 team members over two locations in the Wellington region.
