About Jonothan Page

Jono State Champion Head Coach when working for Manchester City Football Clubs China project, whilst stationed on the China-North Korean border for 10 months in 2018. Jono has had 8 seasons at men's level of football management winning 2 league titles and 1 cup along the way. He is the author of a series of 5 football coaching books called the Secret Soccer Scrolls. They are fun adventures that also focus on positional sense, team spirit and football intelligence. With 22 years of football management and football coaching experience. Having coached and managed teams in England, Wales, China, The Gambia, Senegal and South Korea. Predominantly coaching men's and under 18 teams, Jono has also extensively coached u16, u14, u12, u10 & u8. Developing and advancing individuals and teams to be highly competitive with a fantastic team spirit and enjoyment of football. Although highly adaptable, Jono favours an entertaining possession based, attacking style of play:My football ideology involves dominating the play with an attacking style in the opponents half that must be backed up by a strong, well-organised and disciplined defence. However, I like my players to be able to master more than one style, which will help when tactical alterations are required. I implement these concepts with the football coaching methodology of ‘tactical periodisation.’ And always see football as fun. This methodology, coupled with the Manchester City Football Clubs training and playing principles, has positively progressed my football coaching ideology immeasurably. I am experienced in the football environment, and I have experience working with teams and players from many different backgrounds, cultures and religions.

Listed skills include Sports, Sports Management, Sports Marketing, Soccer, and 13 others.

Implementing the football training programme that I've designed specifically for the (TSI) project. Conducting trials to select the best talents from the two Nations of The Gambia & Senegal, to be admitted into the 28 day training camp. Where I will lead my team of coaches to best develop the participating players through my football coaching experience and methodology. After the training camp and a brief rest for the players; those that are selected will form two squads to play a series of test matches for a number of professional football clubs to see if they want to sign up any of these promising young local talents. It is my role to be the manager of the teams and have them proficient in an attacking, possession based, positional style of play, against outside opposition. This is an exciting and televised programme in both The Gambia & Senegal. Aimed at giving those with great potential a chance to escape from poverty and follow in the footsteps of Sadio Mane to achieve their football dreams and be in a position to help their home communities. It also gives professional football clubs in the West a chance to see the excellent youth talent that these countries have and a chance to sign players that otherwise wouldn't be seen.
