I am an attorney and arbitrator and have worked in the area of complex business and employment litigation for over 35 years. I have handled matters involving a wide variety of businesses and individuals, across a broad spectrum of industries, including healthcare, medical device technology, banking and finance, insurance, real estate, manufacturing retail, marketing and more. I am an enrolled member of the National Roster of Arbitrators of the American Arbitration Association. I serve as arbitrator on the Complex Commercial, Employment and Consumer arbitration panels. I have also served as an advocate before many arbitration forums.I devote a substantial portion of my practice to counseling, litigation and arbitration regarding employment issues, executive and professional compensation and benefits, wage and hour law, trade-secret protection, enforcement of non-compete and confidentiality agreements, and sales representative/distributor relations. I also handle a wide range of partnership, corporate, contract and other commercial disputes.I appear often in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, and in the courts of Hennepin, Ramsey, Anoka, and Dakota counties, and have appeared by special permission in many courts across the United States. I have argued several cases before the Minnesota Supreme Court, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits, and the Minnesota Court of Appeals, and have been lead author of several briefs to the U.S. Supreme Court.I also devote a substantial portion of my time to service for non-profit organizations and pro-bono representation.
