Concluded part-time studies initially undertaken in the United Kingdom under sponsorship of my employer before re-location to Australia in 2010. Studying as a mature student helped refine and consolidate my vocational experience resulting in a greater professional maturity.Final year project involved a partnership with the defence science and technology organisation (DSTO). The project, entitled; “The effect of voids & porosity on the compressive fatigue durability of carbon/epoxy laminates” explored on the effect of voiding and porosity on the fatigue performance of quasi-isotropic graphite/epoxy composite laminates, and ultimately discussed the visco-elastic, and time/temperature sensitivity of polymer matrix materials.

Responsible for the design & development of powertrain commodities of the Australian derived I6 engine. Activities would include; developing next generation products, addressing warranty/field issues, managing distressed suppliers and cost reduction projects.

Contract Design Engineer Responsible for concept and detailed design of a full complement of stressed casings for a 6-speed automatic transmission, intended for high volume manufacture in China for the Asian markets.

Promoted from workshop duties to pursue a career as a mechanical design engineer within the powertrain department.Lead design engineer on an electro-mechanical actuation system for an automated, manual transmission (AMT) on a High volume low cost, small capacity motorbike.Design engineer supporting the design and manufacture of a Stirling engine for the commercial Combined Heat and Power (CHP) market.
