I run 2 Vistage groups [formerly Academy for Chief Executives] in and around Bristol, Bath, Swindon. These are invitation only peer groups of successful and ambitious business owners, CEO's and MD's and KEY EXEC's. Ranging from c£3m to £150m t-o, "Success" for these people means consistently outperforming their markets, but more than that... continually improving to become the businesses and business people they aspire to be! Ethical, Entrepreneurial, socially and sustainably aware. Businesses that "do teh right thing"."Success for me means helping them achieve that goal! Members run multi £m t-o businesses from a wide variety of sectors [never two the same, its one of the most important things!] and meet once a month to acquire new skills; discuss issues in our confidential Board Meeting; enjoy an annual goal setting retreat; and receive group and individual mentoring. Many members stay for several years - my longest is 12 years and going strong!My qualifications for this are 30+ years successful career at MD and Group MD level in a variety of businesses [mainly in the £5 to £50m range], locations and stakeholder environments. This included many environments: VC/PE owned, privately owned, owned by me, family owned.Not being able to resist the "Business Bug", when I came out from under the corporate umbrella in 2010 I invested in, and was MD of Caption Data Ltd., until October 2018. By which stage we had moved from an embryonic stage with 2.5 people and some ideas, to what was a fast growing technology company employing 17 staff. They specialised in "Internet of Things" remote monitoring solutions all delivered with analytics, dashboards, aggregation and integration of data sources to allow clients to get actionable knowledge from their assets.
