I've been on-contract as a consultant for Koch-Glitsch, working to provide internal marketing efforts to brand and promote a global software initiative within the company. I have led the charge in editing training materials, producing a series of videos for global consumption (including translations to Italian and Gujarati), branding and design, internal communications, small event management, social media (Yammer) and awareness across multiple locations around the world.

Officially? I manage, coordinate and carry out all activities and functions associated with disseminating Botanica’s image and message to the public through all forms of marketing and communications.But in reality, I promote beauty and engagement and tranquility in an attempt to share the bliss of Botanica not only with the immediate community, but to a worldwide audience to develop a destination location that attracts visitors of all walks of life.

From website to social media, I take the lead on reshaping WNCC's digital brand and messaging to engage students and maximize the return of our online efforts. Photography and video coupled with storytelling and strategic program promotion make this a robust position that combines the worlds of design and copywriting. Other various tasks include managing the central campus-wide video messaging system, working with clients on- and off-campus to deliver targeted materials and more.

Jon's job is to take those things and jumble them up in such a way that you might be more entertained and inclined to learn about the college's various program offerings and take advantage of the superbly affordable academic opportunities afforded outside of the 4-year university system. Tasked with publications both print and digital, Jon flexes his mental muscles on projects like social media, blogging, biannual magazine copy, annual reports, videos, enrollment materials, television and radio commercial and media relations among a host of other things he just can't recall at the moment. He's also earned the loving nickname among college regulars as "Picture Guy" since he's often haunting around campus shooting photos of various events and activities.

Was the sole intrepid news reporter for a small-town publication that published hard-hitting and sometimes fluffy local news features Monday through Saturday. Also responsible for putting together the rad designs for weekly special pages focused on local businesses, schools and special announcements. When the editor needed some time away, he ran the whole darn show.

Imagine trying to wrangle 30+ college-aged part-time employees into a cohesive and well-oiled entertainment machine. From learning to operate and maintain pre-digital projection systems to taking responsibility for all inventory, maintenance, customer service, promotional and banking duties, Jon was the head of this 8-screen behemoth in Emporia, Kansas. He also watched plenty of movies in his time there.
