Jon Jackson is a proven global leader with over 28 years in marine and automotive power systems and manufacturing leadership. He has been with Caterpillar since 2005 where he led a diverse portfolio of product and technology launches. Jon currently serves as the Director of the Manufacturing Technology and Solutions DivisionJon is an expert in diesel engines, automotive and marine propulsion, electrification, system integration. His strengths include leadership, technical and financial acumen, strategy, collaboration, and the ability to solve problems with a high degree of ambiguity and multiple stakeholders. Jon holds a master’s degree in engineering from the University of Michigan as well as an MBA from Bradley University. He is a registered professional Engineer (Michigan) and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Redcross Upstate division. Jon previously served on the board of directors for the National Marine Manufacturers Association and the American Red Cross, Heart of Illinois Chapter. Outside of work Jon enjoys time with his family, flying single engine aircraft, classic cars and keeping in shape. In 2022, Jon competed in multiple long distance swim races and successfully completed the escape from Alcatraz - A two-mile swim against strong current, waves, and frigid water. Jon’s objectives are to lead with impact in customer-focused, innovative organizations that enable customers to meet their operational and environmental objectives.
