I'm on a challenging technical project for an amazing geophysics company, with a great team.Geovista is headquartered in North Wales, while I work remotely from Bristol.

Electronic engineering, encompassing system design, board design, electromagnetic theory, simulation, and product support.I designed and demonstrated the first proof-of-concept locators using RTK GNSS to provide centimetre-accurate mapping. As the technical lead for GNSS, I followed the project through to the launch of 'Survey Grade' mapping in the latest version of Radiodetection’s electromagnetic locator: RD8200SG. It’s remarkable technology and so useful in this market.

I led the team that developed a completely new video controller for the ‘flexitrax’ inspection system. We are proud of our product, which can be seen on the CUES (sister company) website.

Consultancy specialising in wireless and video, which developed the first home 'sender' to distribute HDTV over WiFi. My responsibilities were technical management and hands-on development.I first worked for Provision in 2003, as a consultant FPGA engineer developing an OFDM modulator.

Through Voluntary Service Overseas [VSO], I worked alongside local staff at Mekelle Institute of Technology, teaching electronic engineering to first and second-year undergraduates. What a great bunch of students we had, and several have since become lecturers themselves - good!

Tandberg Television was very influential in the introduction of digital television. I contributed to numerous digital video encoder designs. I later managed the team responsible for terrestrial television modulators using OFDM.[Tandberg Television later became Ericsson Television]

I was the project manager for the European AUDETEL consortium, which delivered the first field trial of television audio description for people with visual impairment. This was technically challenging, but the successful field trial was of great value.Also, I learnt a good deal of electronics and signal processing!

I was development engineer then team lead for digital video mixers. Thomson Broadcast was leading the industry by supplying equipment for all-digital studios.
