Applicant Testing Services was a human resources firm that specialized in pre-hire screening testing for people interested in law enforcement and emergency services careers (Police, Special Constable, Firefighter, and Nuclear Security), delivering the analytical, writing skill, physical, behavioral and Vision/Hearing testing required to become a Police Officer in most jurisdictions in Ontario. Under this screening process, several thousand interested applicants are narrowed down to a pool of candidates with the aptitude that police recruiters are looking for. Besides almost every Ontario Police Service, clients also included: Toronto Transit Commision, Metrolinx, London Hydro, EnWin Utilities, and Toronto Housing Authority. It was acquired by Staples in 1994 and continued its rapid growth to become a leading office supply retailer. I joined Business Depot during its early years of explosive growth and assisted in the opening of several new store locations and renovations.
