Acting as Lead Consultant when preparing Major Development Proposals and Planning Appeals. Assembling and instructing development teams. Project Management of specialist/technical consultants. Advising Private and Public Sector clients on Spatial Planning and development. Site Promotion through the Local Development Framework. Responsible for managing a team of five planning professionals.

Monitoring the Barratt portfolio of planning permissions within the East Midlands region to ensure that all permissions are maintained valid.Instruct and co-ordinate various consultants whilst leading the design team in the formulation of major planning applications.Manage and overview the discharge of planning conditions and Section 106 payments of all sites within the region.Produce succinct planning reports for Board papers and provide detailed planning advice for site viability assessments.Provide specific urban design input to the formulation of Master Plans and detailed planning layoutsReview relevant Development Plans and maintain an up to date knowledge on the Local Development Framework process throughout authorities in the East Midlands.Advise Senior Directors of potential strategic land opportunities

Projects managed include:Large Scale Wind Farm application comprising of seven wind turbines with an installed capacity of 14MW.The sustainable development of the mixed use Sherwood Energy Village on the former Ollerton Colliery, Nottinghamshire. The regeneration and redevelopment of the former Bilsthorpe Colliery in the creation of Bilsthorpe Business Park, Nottinghamshire.Duties in this post include:Determining and managing a substantial and varied case load of planning applications, listed building consents, advertisements etcProducing concise statements for appeals made against the Local Planning Authority and for the presentation in court cases and legal inquiries.Exercising sound judgement when analysing and assessing controversial planning issues.Liaising with other departments, outside agencies and members of the public to resolve and understand concerns effectively and efficiently.Negotiating and formally responding to pre-application and miscellaneous planning enquiries.Providing advice and guidance to interested parties on planning matters.Mentoring and assisting other members of the team
