Started my time at 3M Health Information Systems (HIS) as a Data Architect, finished my time as a Data Engineer in the 3M HIS Data Science Lab. I was able to re-invent myself multiple times during my time at 3M, also acting as a cloud service developer, a cloud architect, and a data scientist.* Led a 3–6-person team managing a critical business service leveraging predictive analytics and machine learning.* Curated efficient access to datasets containing billions of records used to train and test machine learning models.* Designed a secure research environment on AWS using IAC and the AWS services CloudFormation,EC2, EMR, and SageMaker. 100% of the data science staff leveraged this environment.* Employed Apache Spark, built on EMR, to process inputs using distributed computing cluster.I was able to interview and hire two additional data scientists and one data engineer. Mentoring these colleagues and helping to improve their software and data science skills is something I found extremely rewarding.

One system managed users and permissions across our suite of enterprise software. I loved my time at System Automation, I was the Senior Database Administrator by the time I departed the company that gave me my start. I wore so many other hats, traveling from time to time to do on-site go-live, training, and installation.
