Senior manager responsible for all Base and Line aircraft maintenance and personnel at Birmingham and East Midlands Airport. Delivered 24/7 aircraft engineering support to numerous international airline operators, including several high-end blue chip organisations, whilst achieving and exceeding external and internal KPI requirements across the full spectrum of delivery criteria. Successfully managed highly profitable multi-million pound operations across the company’s largest regional sites at dispersed international airports.

Promoted to Base Operations Manager after just 6 months with the company, and held responsibility for Base Operations and Production Support. Responsible for delivering aircraft maintenance projects on time and below budget across various aircraft types; 737CL, 737NG, Airbus 320 family, BAe 146, and Fokker aircraft. Successfully project managed the introduction of a new aircraft type approval for the organisation, the Embraer 170/190, as part of the Group’s long term strategy.Delivered critical engineering support to both internal and external customers, Technical Planning, Workpack Compilation and Technical Documentation Coordination. Driving force behind the strategic and operational maintenance planning, project managing all Future Capability Growth requirements, and a key lead in the introduction of a new electronic management toolset.

This included the following principle accountabilities within the business: Planning and Scheduling; Aircraft Budgets & Performance Measurement and Reporting, including Earned Value Management; Technical Documentation Management; driving Transformation and Continuous Improvement. Chosen to represent the business in developing the Future Support Operating Model for the UK customer (Defence Equipment & Support, £1.9Bn contract over 8 years), and selected to support the development of the new Aircraft Availability Concept for all current and future global customers.

RAF Maintenance Manager and BAE Systems 'Cat C' engineer in a Part 145 Maintenance Organisation under the MAA MAOS Regulatory Framework. Responsibility for over 130 staff. The first RAF Commissioned Officer to be awarded the ‘Cat C’ licence. This role also required the leadership and management of the LEAN Working Group within the Typhoon Maintenance Facility, increasing efficiency across UK Typhoon maintenance and reducing the aircraft project downtimes by 20%.

Tactical responsibility for strategic business assets and highly complex multi-million pound Typhoon aircraft at high readiness states in defence of UK sovereign airspace on Quick Reaction Alert duties. Commander of over 70 technical staff working days and nights shift pattern. Awarded an Air Officer Commendation in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List as the Engineering Lead and Detachment Commander of the Typhoon International Display Team as part of the UK Trade and Investment export effort around the world.

Prioritised and managed the Station’s strategic and tactical Engineering and Logistics effort in support of Nimrod MR2 flying operations. Partnered with major industry contractor organisations across a complex MOD programme and contractual framework, to deliver aircraft on time to the RAF post scheduled maintenance activity. Coordinated the drawdown of the Nimrod MR2 Fleet to meet its Out-of-Service Date.
