I developed nickel oxide as a hole transport material for perovskite solar cell applications using both RF magnetron sputtering and pulsed laser deposition with a large degree of independence. I subsequently characterized the nickel oxide thin film properties using among others X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray reflection (XRR), UV-vis-NIR spectroscopy, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Additionally, I investigated the performance of nickel oxide in solar cell devices using all vacuum processes. This research was performed at the Molecular Opto Electronics Devices group under the direct supervision of Hendrik J. Bolink as part of my master Applied Physics at the University of Twente. Supervision from the University of Twente was given by Gertjan Koster from the Inorganic Materials Science research group.

I worked on the development of indium tin oxide (ITO) and aluminium-doped zinc oxide (AZO) by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) for potential application as transparent conductive oxide (TCO) in thin film silicon solar cells. I manufactured these materials using the PLD tool and characterized the laye properties but also in M2 textured poly-Si wafers using, among others; spectroscopic ellipsometry, four-point probe technique, hall measurements, and photoconductive decay measurements.

I am a teaching assistant of part of the module 'Fields & Waves', module 7 of Advanced Technology, regarding the subject Problem Based Learning (PBL) of Electro- and Magnetostatics and dynamics. I help students learn Maxwell's equations with the help of Feynman's lectures and how to apply the knowledge gained to relatively simple problems.Furthermore, I am coaching a group of students who are busy designing an antenna that radiates in the 100 MHz range.

The Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) ensures that the quality of education in the bachelor program Advanced Technology (AT) is continuously improving. This is done by evaluating the every module by asking the students how they experienced the modules, what were the strengths of that module and what could be improved upon next year? This feedback from the students is then presented to the teachers and discussed in a meeting with both students and teachers. As a member of this committee, you are expected to acquire feedback about the module from the students and make sure the communication between student and teacher is good. After every module, the feedback meetings result in an evaluation report which is used to improve the module in the next year.

On the 6th of September 2018, I was inaugurated as Secretary of study association Astatine. As a secretary, I am responsible for contact with external parties, keeping track of the database and ensuring the continuity of the association. The BuCom is the committee in S.V.A.T. Astatine that arranges an epic study trip to a country inside the Shengen area. We are currently busy by organizing an 8 days long trip to the Baltic States. In the Baltic States we will drive by bus with 45 people to different companies in different cities.Being the secretary of the BuCom means I take the notes of our meetings but I am also able to relieve my fellow committee members in the work that is shared among us.
