Provided ongoing valued editing and writing contributions for the Web and print. Launched and profitably managed Macworld Insider paid premium content program. Managed and successfully expanded Macworld ebooks program to TechHive and PCWorld brands. Collaborated across departments with business development and marketing groups to strategize revenue opportunities and marketing efforts. Integrally involved in beta testing and launching the TechHive website, identifying bugs in new CMS, shaping the voice of the new site, and crafting compelling home entertainment content with SEO concerns in mind. Worked collaboratively with multiple direct reports, aiding in their professional development and crafting yearly evaluations. Utilized multiple social media platforms to engage with audience and marketers.

Assumed full management of the magazine’s print news section, and shaped daily online news planning and coverage. Successfully managed multiple employees. Created and edited a new monthly magazine column. Oversaw Best of Show awards for large Macworld Expo trade show. Visualized and managed important cover story on the 25th anniversary of the Mac.

Brought essential knowledge of the Mac ecosystem to bear in editing both Mac Gems software section and Mac OS X Hints column. Collaborated with staff and outside contributor to craft monthly CD included with print magazine. Worked with luminaries such as Roger Ebert on 20th anniversary of the Mac cover story.

Honed my writing skills and assumed responsibility for managing the letters section of the magazine. Attended and covered important press events, such as Steve Jobs’ unveiling of the iPod in 2001, and developed deep relationships with PR and company contacts.

Joined Macworld as features editor, developing feature and cover stories, assigning them to freelance contributors, and editing and ushering them through the process all the way to print while meeting all deadlines. Learned to write features and news items, and prepared the monthly TOC.

Worked as a detail-oriented fact-checker for multiple print stories, including large features.
