Jon Slangerup is Chairman of Lind Marine, a diversified marine services and products company operating throughout the Pacific West Coast. The Company provides dredging and construction services; tug and barge operations and leasing; vessel maintenance and drydock services; lightering and logistics services; mining and production of oyster shell, sand, and gravel products; military, government, and commercial boat building; and environmental remediation and vessel salvage. With extensive corporate leadership experience, Mr. Slangerup has served since 1994 in a diverse range of board and c-suite assignments as a chairman, president, and/or CEO of both public and private companies ranging from FedEx to the Port of Long Beach. With domain expertise in maritime, logistics and cleantech, Mr. Slangerup has built businesses throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, serving customers in more than 100 countries, and completing numerous mergers and acquisitions.Mr. Slangerup’s career began in military and commercial aviation, leading to a distinguished 20-year career with FedEx where he advanced to become President of FedEx Canada. During his seven-year tenure in Toronto, he established FedEx as Canada’s leading international express logistics enterprise. Since 2013, Mr. Slangerup has worked as an operating executive and M&A advisor for three private equity firms, serving as a corporate director, chairman and/or CEO of five portfolio companies. Mr. Slangerup served on the boards of Fenix Marine Services, a large ocean freight terminal operation, and Hawthorne Global Aviation Services, a corporate aviation services company, until their respective sales in early 2022. He previously served as the chairman and CEO of both American Global Logistics, a supply chain services company, and Mxi Technologies, an aviation maintenance enterprise software provider, until their respective sales in 2020 and 2017. Prior to joining Mxi Technologies, Mr. Slangerup was CEO of the Port of Long Beach, a major west coast seaport and primary cargo gateway for US-Asia trade.In addition to his corporate work, Mr. Slangerup serves as a trustee of his alma mater, Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, where he serves on the University’s Investment Committee, Business Development Committee, and Research Park Advisory Board. Mr. Slangerup holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Aeronautics and Business Administration.
