Used the cyber kill chain methodology, the OWASP top 10 and MITRE ATT&CK framework to give real world feel to the work done in the classroom and in competitions. Taught operating systems and networks, covering many aspects of CISSP, ComptIA Network+ and Security+ and using Bash and PowerShell. Introduced and supported students using a number of tools, adversary tactics and techniques used in the cyber industry, created my own challenges (SQL injection etc.), for the students to compete in national competitions, including UKCybersecurity challenge, CyberFirst plus many others. Assisted with developing the Cyber Defenders course with QA. In order to do this, I developed and upskilled a team of teachers, inspired them through good practice and leadership, proactively identifying any risks and managing conflicts which achieved the successful delivery of this new strategy. I changed the culture of the way we communicated, unifying communications and using google teams. I developed assessment policies which allowed the continuous monitoring of pupil progress. My vision of shaping the curriculum included the implementation of a challenging ‘gifted and talented’ extension programme which included application development, encryption, cyber-security, robotics and web science.
