Fun side project that has had a bit of a following over the years. Developed web and mobile apps, as well as extensive back-end for parsing and summarizing weather from the National Forecast Digital Database. Still doing some active development, including re-writing the Python backend and soon rolling out new web and mobile apps. True labor of love.

I served on the board of New River Alliance of Climbers (NRAC) advocating for climber access in the New River Gorge. We worked with the National Park Service on a number of conservation projects, and helped to organize the New River Climbing Rendezvous. I also managed the NRAC website and created iPhone and Android mobile apps for the New River Rendezvous.

As a Research Associate at World Resources Institute, I was the technical lead on a team developing a web-based water quality trading platform called NutrientNet. NutrientNet provided estimation tools and a marketplace for nitrogen and phosphorus pollution, allowing polluters such as waste water treatment plants to offset some of their waste with credits purchased from polluters that exceed water quality standards. This often provides a much more economical approach to meeting permitting standards than costly facility upgrades.I developed several systems for different watersheds, including the Kalamazoo River watershed in Michigan, the Conestoga River watershed in Pennsylvania, and the Chesapeake Bay watershed, which covers a multi-state area. I also worked directly with state and local governments, including the departments of environment quality in Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia.

Developed applications for a range of customers and industries.

At Equinox Farm, I was responsible for cultivating 10-acres of organic vegetables that serviced a large area in the Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York area. Our primary focus was baby salad greens, heirloom tomatoes and other specialty vegetables. I oversaw the entire growing process, including field preparation, seeding, mechanical weeding, irrigation and harvest.In addition to the field management, I also was responsible for development and maintenance of farm infrastructure. This included irrigation design, equipment maintenance, greenhouse building, electrical work and more.

I started in a technical support role then took on increasingly challenges projects, including a internal knowledge base, defect ticketing system and network operations center reporting tool.
