I enjoy learning a new trick or tool in Photoshop as much as I love finding a new formula in Excel (shout out vlookup – you’re the bomb).Starting out in marketing as an intern, I’ve done the whole stuffing 30,000 envelopes (yes, I would outsource this now) and adding what seems to be an endless list of products to a website. Moving up through the ranks I went from trade show management to creating my own events with 300+ attendees across the country. I’ve gone from proofreading brochures to concepting, writing, and designing them. I have the knowledge and experience to run a marketing department, dealing with manufacturers, distributors and business partners. Working with them to juggle co-op funding, lead sharing, and sales training.That was all before I fell in love with the digital world, mainly online advertising with the likes of Google AdWords, BingAds, and Facebook advertising. (Sorry LinkedIn – but your Ad platform leaves much to be desired). That’s what makes my eyes open wide and what some of my clients can’t get me to shut-up about. Why isn’t everyone as excited about conversion rates and A/B testing as I am?I’ve been told that I have a somewhat unhealthy affection for a tool called Supermetrics, but as an online marketer if you’re not using it you’re missing the boat. Sometimes I wish I could be paid by them to promote it and go to conferences to teach people all about its amazing abilities.
