Started my working life in 2000 at a job in local telephone company when dial-up connections were still a thing. I started by setting up internet connections for customers and later web sites and web- and email hosting for companies. I was also in charge of setting up a new Help desk for ISP services.I got more in to software development and I was asked to test new releases of a new online portal. And I did, so much so that I was transferred to development team to "stop bugging the developers and fix the code myself". We rolled out new products and features constantly, we developed all online the tools like webmails, online shops, CRM, admin panels, service portals, integrations, ... We had ton of fun.Later our team formed a new software company and our biggest client was one of the largest telecom companies in Finland. My role was to develop web applications to manage the ISP product suite. I also took care of day-to-day ISP operations like DNS management. I was doing a job I liked.But later the work had become stagnant. Friend gave me a tip about FinTech startup that was looking for lead developer. I went for an interview and soon I was again learning and building something new, Awesome! I was working with payment gateways, mobile payments, digital wallets, APIs and integrations. I also got to learn and develop risk management, KYC/KYT and AML solutions.During all of this I also started a business with my friends and also my own small business for smaller projects and consulting.Through all this I have learned a lot. I've worked as full stack developer but I really like projects that involve building excellent back-end APIs and micro services. My favourite tech stack is Symfony + API-Platform on top of PHP, Caddy and Queues. I want to build solutions with SOLID principles and Domain Driven Design in mind.When not working, I'm blessed with beautiful twin daughters who like to keep me busy. If I have free time, my hobbies include sport shooting, Defendo, participating in local military reserve training and sometimes tinkering with old cars.
