Jon is an Operations and Finance executive with over 20 years experience who works with a variety of turnaround and early stage companies in consultative COO/CFO and advisory roles. In addition to his work with startups, Jon has served as CEO of FAB-X/Metals, a multi-million dollar fabrication business and Managing Director of TriVirix, Ltd, a multi-million dollar medical device manufacturer. Jon’s other business experience includes operations executive roles with General Electric, Sony Electronics, and Johnson & Johnson. Jon holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, serves on the Advisory Board of the North Carolina Industrial Extension Service, and is an Army Veteran who served in several overseas operations including Operations Desert Shield/Storm.

Managing Director/Operations Director, United Kingdom (2003 – 2004) for privately-held contract manufacturer and engineering services provider for the medical device and life science industries.* Directed Belfast manufacturing facility, including profit and loss management, quality, and regulatory compliance. * Managed business through 30% staff reduction and met quarterly manufacturing goals each quarter. * Increased revenue and optimized balance sheet performance through supplier management, inventory reductions, and better accounts receivable management. * Instituted lean manufacturing techniques to improve manufacturing flow and reduce work-in-process by 75%. * Completed full FDA audit of facility within 1 month of assuming position and attained ISO13485:2003 certification.* Drove implementation of company wide metrics/measurement improvement and initial implementation of Lean, Value Stream Mapping and 5S.

Supply chain was not optimally deployed for company growth. Identified ways to maximize opportunities within supply chain. Performed comprehensive series of lean assessments of all company facilities and integrated results into global strategy.Developed and deployed consolidated quality and productivity program and saved $53M annually for LifeScan. Implemented proactive supplier quality management program, and conducted first Johnson & Johnson Process Excellence assessments and training in Asia-Pacific region. Closer partnership with suppliers in combination with in-house efficiency gains, resulted in stronger relationships and drove costs down.
