Managed engineering and quality teams at an industrial and automotive equipment remanufacturing company. Key driver in transforming the company from its dependency on highly-skilled mechanics with little structure to a methodical, repeatable, and scalable business focusing on scope, schedule, and cost. Managed over 20 oilfield equipment and crash rescue fire truck remanufacturing projects totaling over $6M in revenue. Integrated 7 new categories of oilfield fracking equipment into company’s start-up oilfield business unit.

Enhanced company’s Quality Management System while maintaining ISO 9001:2008 certification. Drove efforts for continuous improvement including enhancing process repeatability and communication to employees. Developed the framework for a master production schedule to determine manpower and cash flow requirements and enable production, purchasing, fabrication, paint shop, and quality assurance to all work to the same schedule.

Project managed build of $500k custom-designed oilfield cementing unit to meet customer requirements. Overhauled final inspection process for rebuilt trucks to reduce discrepancy findings. Created various workmanship standards and taught over 20 different training courses to improve production employees’ mechanical aptitude and process knowledge.

Voluntarily resigned previous position to pursue career in poker. Routinely utilized logical deduction, math, statistics, and psychology to determine optimal decisions during poker hands.

Ensured acceptable reliability of new “Silver Bullet” drill and hammer drill programs by gathering user data, determining critical to quality (CTQ) criteria, writing test procedures to test tool’s conformance to CTQ, safety, and warranty criteria, and analyzing the results using statistical tools such as Weibull++ and Minitab software. Led teams of manufacturing engineers in Mexico and China to reduce warranty costs and create cost-saving initiatives on over 200 SKU’s in DeWalt’s corded metalworking portfolio.

Optimized design and performance of a new corded small angle-grinder product to meet user CTQ’s and helped to deliver product on time and at cost while surpassing specifications. Conducted DFMEA’s and PFMEA’s with engineering teams to proactively identify and eliminate weaknesses in design and potential manufacturing defects. Oversaw various test builds, including engineering sample-lot build in-person at overseas factory in China.

Selected for a 2-year engineering development program for college graduates with high leadership potential, which provided MBA classes and 4 rotational assignments within different business units and locations throughout the company. Assignments were: Plastic Tooling Engineer for DeWalt (Reynosa, Mexico), Resident Engineer for DeVilbiss Air Power (Jackson, TN), Resident Engineer for Porter-Cable (Jackson, TN), and Value-Improvement Engineer for DeWalt (Towson, MD).

Assisted a 4-member team in developing a pneumatically-powered caulk gun. Designed components in CATIA, conducted prototype testing, and analyzed results to predict tool performance.
