    As the head of IT, I managed and coordinated with a diverse team to support the daily local and remote needs for all professors, staff, undergrad and graduate students. A great deal of time and effort went into improving department efficiency, enhancing communications, and building awareness of available resources. For example, I implemented computer imaging to decrease deployment time, improve system consistency, and lowered costs. I virtualized our many antiquated physical servers down to just three servers to free up office space, control heat, improve server stability, and decreased energy and equipment costs. For procurement, I standardized our process and aligned with preferred vendors, securing a 15% savings on all technology purchases. I also established our software licensing compliance database and negotiating the 100% donation of multiple expensive engineering software programs. Communication is a key to success for any community.
