Track Standards Development Program for GO Transit:- Executed 26 projects as part of five-year research and development program, on schedule and budget- Completed full design and validation of a new heavy rail track turnout device, including dynamic simulation of multiple train types passing at speeds of up to 60mph, and field instrumentation of a train car with high-frequency accelerometers and inclinometers to verify simulation results- Instrumented concrete ties to compare structural properties with surrounding timber ties, resulting in paper published by renowned RAILTEC team at University of Illinois- A further seven projects included LIDAR surveying of train dynamic envelopes to verify speed limit increases through station platforms, study of long-term climate change impacts on rail expansion/contraction, and creation of standards for special trackwork components and trenchless tunnelling methodsOther Projects:- Recommended alternative station platform passenger warning systems to GO Transit, following literature review of systems and standards in use by passenger rail services globally, acoustic measurements of approaching trains, passenger surveys, and risk assessment workshop to evaluate the options found- Prepared 5,000 hour/month staff utilization schedules for designers of tunnel and emergency egress shafts on Riyadh Metro project, a newly constructed $22.5b, 6 line, 85 station light rail service in Saudi Arabia- Every project above included safety planning for all activities, direction of interdisciplinary technical teams, and communication of findings to VP-level colleagues and clients in reports, workshops, and presentations
