In 2012 I realized something - a new technology was finding a foothold and about to transform an entire industry - the most important industry in the world - Energy.When HES, a large Company with an entrepreneurial culture, made me an offer to be a part of the industry transformation - I was all in.I ran large high risk/reward programs for HES that only someone that operates without a career in mind could love, with a particular focus on inventing new ways to do things that had transformational business value.While @ HES, I partnered with the Bakken Subsurface team to found the Predictive Analytics/Big Data program, which is now a cornerstone capability associated with the HES LEAN manufacturing process for unconventional development.And I realized - we had only scratched the surface of a data transformation in an industry that had just gone through a manufacturing renaissance.

I was a partner in a boutique system integration firm sold to Perficient (NASDAQ: PRFT) July, 2005 after doubling revenue in 18 months.Stayed on post acquisition to run PRFT's National Enterprise Search/Portal/Content Management strategy and implementation practice, doubling revenue again while maintaining company leading contribution margins.

We built a SaaS platform for web content management before SaaS existed, competing against Interwoven, Vignette and other flush with cash types. Lucky for us that there were enough companies out there that wanted to buy from the underdog.Went public in 1999, after which I ran the public company through the downturn of 2000, ultimately merging the business with a large private company in 2003.
