Consulting via my company Kelsus, I developed software in ruby, javascript and flex, managed projects, and acted as a technical client liaison for TAAZ from 2008-2012. I also went to Resistencia, Argentina in 2008 and 2009 to interview and build a team of software developers there.Notable projects I contributed to include Hollywood Hair for InStyle magazine, Multiple international projects for Estee Lauder, and a recent total revamp (2012) of the TAAZ.com website itself.

Global Quiver was a website that allowed surfers to lend, rent and borrow surf boards from each other and also to rent them from surf shops. The goal was to make surf travel better by reducing the pain of traveling with surf boards and increasing the visibility and availability of viable alternatives.Global Quiver shut down in August 2010 due to lack of participation from surf shops.

For a time, Mocapay was the best positioned company in the United States to bring about a move towards the mobile wallet.While I was there, I did work at a director level in Business Development, Product Management, and Merchant Services.

Formed revenue sharing partnerships with payments companies (Including BankServ, Google Checkout, and many others) to run their services over the IP Payments Framework that IP Commerce had developed.

Defining and building the operational infrastructure for a new electronic payments framework.

Figuring out what the software should do in the future to help us retain and obtain customers and also to keep our competitive advantage.

Delivered three maintenance releases and saved two critical accounts. Delivered these maintenance releases with a distributed newly formed team (half in India). The two saved critical accounts allowed the company to meet cash flow goals for the fiscal year.

Started a support team for a new product from scratch. Supported 5 of the nations top retailers with installations of up to 100,000 named users.Built the team up to 5 support engineers and trained a new support manager before moving on to another position.

Built a QA organization for a brand new product. Lead testing of the first release of the product with an adhoc team made of several folks from around the small office. For the second release of the product, I went to India to build a testing team there. As they got into the mode of testing, I handed off the QA management role to another.

Spent two years as an Enterprise Application Integration programming consultant. This involved writing a lot of java code, and a lot of late nights. It also involved a heck of a lot of travel and some relatively nerve racking 'consulting' situations. Those are the type where the client doesn't seem to want 'do the right thing'

This company was just cool. New RFID technology with venture backing. We mostly sat around thinking of cool ways to apply RFID technology. We would then prototype them and go and try to sell them to big companies.No dice.For posterity I have to mention that the company was a spinoff of the MIT media lab and that I was doing more learning than doing while I was there.
