・Built up a new software engineering teamMy team successfully delivered a new series of enterprise WLAN AP and Controller models based on several cost-effective & feature-rich hardware platforms with proprietary ZLD (ZyXEL Linux Distribution) operating system, These models, including NWA5120 series ceiling-mount AP, NWA5301-NJ wall-plate AP, WAC6500 series 11ac AP, NXC2500 controller and NXC5500 controller successfully act as successor of existing models. (proven by sales number).My team grows from 6 to 13 engineers in three years and keep growing steadily with very low turn-over rate.・Software developmentAs a lead of engineering team, I involved software/firmware design process as much as possible, I can always provide useful suggestions or better solution when someone has difficulty in doing their job. I also enjoy hands-on coding job and keep learning new technology to improve engineers daily life. (such as, using ELK to analyse WLAN station and AP behaviours from plenty of log events)I had lots of experiences in building system software under memory-constraint hardware system, and knowledges from toolchain, library and file system selection, Linux operating system memory management and trouble-shooting skills.In 2012, I led a small team to get WFA HotSpot 2.0 (Passpoint) phase 1 certification, we are world-wide no.6 to get certified under very limited resource.・Team & project managementTasks Including identify problems in team organisation and provide proper solutions, and also enforce it to get result. ・Solid embedded system experiences on MIPS and ARM platforms including application design and development, system function and stability issue debugging, Linux kernel development, and customer issue clarification. ・3G mobile router product development - Infineon ADM5120 platform (MIPS) bring-up - debugged USB host controller, SDRAM detection and PCI driver issues. - Ported Atheros WLAN driver from Intel IXP 422 platform to ADM5120 platform - Developed and maintained an application and device driver framework to support 3G wireless cards for OBM/ODM projects. 20+ different 3G cards were developed fast based on this framework and PM/Sales responded customer’s request very quickly. - Lead a small team to response marketing’s request, develop features and do customer support.・Security product development - ZyXEL 1st generation UTM firewall firmware release lead, responsible for consolidating bug reports, coordinating with QA, CSO and other dept., and fixing critical bugs. - IPSec and Firewall application development on embedded RTOS and Linux, - Maintained and developed features Quicksec IPSec toolkit over Linux platform.・Organising training courses, engineer coaching.・3+ years code reviewer experience.
