As the Acorn Partnership Lead for Africa, I coordinate strategic initiatives to scale up our support towards smallholder farmers in adopting agroforestry practices and accessing income through the carbon market. Leading a team of 10 professionals, I oversee 20 high-impact partnerships across 14 countries, which benefit over 300,000 smallholder farmers across Africa.In this role, I am responsible for:- Leading the Acorn Partnership Team for Africa, coordinating and coaching a highly talented team, fostering internal alignment to enable rapid, efficient scaling within a lean operational structure.- Developing and executing strategies for upscaling operations and spearheading new business development across diverse African markets.- Engaging with governments, NGOs, and private sector stakeholders to foster collaboration and policy alignment to enhance the carbon market’s potential for rural communities.- Establishing and monitoring KPIs, ensuring alignment with the organization’s global mission to drive sustainable, scalable agroforestry solutions, while maintaining operational coordination with internal work streams.Key Achievement:Enabling the growth of Acorn’s reach from 20,000 to over 300,000 smallholder farmers in Africa, significantly expanding the program’s impact on tree planting, carbon sequestration and rural livelihoods.

As a Trainee Researcher I was responsable for preparing, organizing and executing a research project. I investigated the effect of cooperatives on the bargaining position of farmers in the North of Senegal. I also used this project as a thesis subject for my MSc studies.
