Origo is the main business partner of IBM in Iceland, As such we are the local support contact for Spectrum Protect/TSM/Storage defender customers in Iceland. We are also a Rubrik and Veeam partner for Iceland, and support both. Besides this, we manage several customers Backup environments, and host many customers cloud and managed backups on our own Backup servers. My daily work involves everything from preventing and fixing client and server issues, to managing and setting up servers, and consulting on backup solutions. My special responsibilities here have been Monitoring & Reporting, and Tooling & Automation (shell scripts, tsm scripts, setting up a sqlite reporting database, and interfacing with opsgenie and jira for ticket automation), as well as helping to modernize backup environments with next generation backup solutions.

UNIX (AIX & Solaris) development and administration for DNB, The Central Bank of the Netherlands, via Capgemini. Responsible for 2 HMC's, 4 Power 7 servers with 6 VIOS + Lpars, and 6 Sparc servers with 9 Global Zones + Local Zones. AIX 6.1, 7.1 & 7.2, Solaris 10 and 11. Focus on server harderning, vulnerability/patch management, and security in general. Next to this mission, i gave a Spectrum Protect (TSM) training course, and did backup & storage consultancy, and pre-sales assistance for other Aprycus customers.

Backup infrastructure design and operations at Vancis, a provider of Cloud and Managed Services. Responsible for developing, administering, implementing; the TSM servers, AIX hosts, Disk storage, Tape Libraries, Reporting databases, Linux management servers, linux and windows datamovers, monitoring environment, and client consultancy. In an environment with ca 3000 nodes, and another ca 3000 TSM for VMware nodes, in 2 datacenters.

Backup administrator at GDF Suez KIR-UNIX team (AIX/HP-Unix/RedHat Linux/Solaris and windows), for the sistronics/Getronics contract. Installation, configuration (v6.3), migration & administration of 50 v5.5 TSM servers and 15 TSM v6.3 servers (with deduplication and node replication), 4 IBM, 1 HP and 1 Quantum Physical Tape Libraries, HP + IBM Virtual Tape Libraries, and 5.000+ nodes (BAclients, TDP Oracle, TDP SAP, NDMP) in 7 datacenters. Support for HP dataprotector sever, and Knowledge Transfer to an offshored team in India for Atos.

Engineering IT support (incidents+changes) at General Motors Europe for Electronic Data Systems. Basic support for Engineering applications, basic system administration tasks on Unix servers and workstations (Solaris/HP-Unix), server operator on Windows 2003 servers, restores with Tivoli Storage Manager , and trainer for 1st line Engineering and Unix support.
