I work as a volunteer program team member for TEDxEindhoven. We are responsible for organising the annual TEDx Main Event in Eindhoven. TEDxEindhoven is a not-for-profit organization committed to launching the ideas, telling the stories and connecting the communities of Eindhoven. Known as the Brainport of the Netherlands, Eindhoven has become internationally recognised for its technology, design and innovation. TEDxEindhoven aims to raise the international awareness of Eindhoven even further through the TEDx brand.TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. The two annual TED Conferences invite the world’s leading thinkers and doers to speak for 18 minutes or less. Many of these talks are then made available, free, at TED.com. TED speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, Elizabeth Gilbert, Sir Richard Branson, Nandan Nilekani, Philippe Starck, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Sal Khan and Daniel Kahneman. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.

As Product Manager I am responsible for one of Cofely’s Software-as-a-Service solutions. This solution enables our customers to obtain an optimal insight into the performance of their business. Technologically, the software operates on Cofely's own M2M platform, hosted and housed within Cofely datacenters. I work with a young and talented multidisciplinary team where I act as linking pin between software engineers, implementation consultants and business representatives. Over the last two years I helped shape the solution from an idea to a mature software product, with a solid and increasing customer base and a profitable bottom-line.

A management traineeship at Cofely GDF-SUEZ is a two year program in which orientation within the company and personal growth are highly valued. With a group of trainees we worked on personal and professional proficiencies, such as project management, financial control, communication- and presentation skills. Furthermore, I performed several projects at different Cofely locations throughout the Netherlands. At the end of two years it turned out I most enjoyed and was able to optimally use my skills at the department of Business Development and Automation.

As part of the Control Systems research group staff I was involved with the European research project E-Price. E-Price is a three-year European research project aiming to develop a reliable, an efficient and a societal-acceptable control concept for the EU energy market. E-Price sets a new standard by introducing a feasible price-based control strategy. Its ambition is to be at the very heart of future developments that fully facilitate the increasing amounts of less-predictable renewable energy sources.

A three month exchange program with the University of Newcastle, Australia under supervision of Dr. Kaushik Mahata. In close cooperation with John Hunter hospital a method for “Automatic videomosaicking for nail fold capillaroscopy” was designed and implemented.
