HomeRez was just a few months old, when I joined as second member of the IT department. Together with the CTO, I designed the system that stores information about vacation rental properties, and we built it from the ground up using MongoDB, Node.js, and AngularJS.Among the things we have built so far are:* A website, where our Sales, Marketing and Customer Support departments can view and store information about vacation rentals;* A public website, where new customers can sign up their vacation rental;* B2B connections to external parties using different technologies like HTTP/XML, REST, and of course the always popular automatic generation of an Excel document which is then sent by email.

Design and implementation of administrative systems in Perl.Working on customer commercial installed base, technical installed base, employee portal, customer portal, and supplier/partner interfaces.Activities:- Designing and improving business processes.- Designing and implementing information storage (PostgreSQL, Redis, etc).- Designing and implementing software (Perl, Python, etc).- Improving the design and development process and thus taking our development team to higher levels.Additional activities:- Backup of Chief Security Officer when the CSO is not available.- Part of the High Potential / Talent program for 2 consecutive years.Achievements:- Improved the development process to use branching, peer reviews, release management, and debian package deployment.- Designed and created the software responsible for the installed base of all customers that XS4ALL hosts a website for.- Designed and built a new process to keep track of and block/unblock customers that have been infected by viruses or trojans.- Designed and built a library to handle B2B communication with XS4ALL's partner that provides the VoIP platform.- Designed and built an online way for customers to reset their passwords, resulting in a 5-10% reduction in calls to the helpdesk.
