CurrentWorking as part of an interdisciplinary team bridging data science and environmental psychology to understand and promote sustainable consumer behaviour. This is an ESRC-funded project examining environmental behaviour through digital footprint data that involves developing machine learning models and analytical techniques to understand the relationship between consumer perceptions and actual purchasing behaviour using store card data. Key responsibilities include:- Analysing large-scale retail transaction data to develop an Environmental Food Purchase Index- Implementing machine learning models to examine patterns in sustainable food purchasing- Developing variable importance analysis methods (SHAP/MCR) to understand key drivers of environmental purchasing decisions- Collaborating with psychologists to link consumer perceptions with actual behaviour- Contributing to research on ethical implications and barriers to personal data donation
