Accomplishments:• Assisted a government agency in transitioning from a paper-based certification system to an online based system by identifying issues of the current process, and creating new processes and improving the current ones to be adapted to the new system.• Reduced application processing times from one to two weeks down to one day by creating processes and workflows.• Wrote a user guide (see Publications section below) for the agency's new online platform to help users transition from a paper-based system to an online system. This helped to reduce the amount of time spent on the phone and emails with questions and issues. The user guide was adopted as a template by the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services - Bureau of EMS, Trauma, and Preparedness who uses the same online platform.• Created an internal knowledge base for office operations.• Coordinated with another agency and two software providers to transition our agency's online payment platform to a new and improved version which resolved critical payment issues.• Improved office performance and accountability by introducing project management software (Slack and Trello) to the team.• Contributed to the successful performance of a State disaster drill by learning and using new software that was introduced at the last minute to the team.Duties:• Customer service - communicate with service providers and other agencies via phone or email.• Assist the Certification Specialist with applications for individuals seeking EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) certification.• Assist the Data Manager with managing and improving the online database.• Onboarding users to a new online platform.• Data Entry.• Process payments for application fees.• Create processes / SOPs for EMT certification and EMS database.• Operate the AKTRACS system as a team member during State disasters to keep accountability of patients and their movements from point of injury to medical facilities.
