When I started out in the world of mobile development, I also started my own company where I developed apps for many small and medium enterprises and charities. I often used different companies or freelancers for additional tasks, but I loved being the central point for each product and negotiating directly with customers about functionality. After five years, I switched my focus to more project-oriented work, but I still love some of the products developed back then.

The company frontend (web and mobile) was restarted in React and React Native just before my work here started. This update needed to be expanded to take over all customer facing software. Then I advised on the requirements for moving the projects to the Portuguese department. I helped set up the department, select and prepare my new teammates. After a short onsite onboarding, we continued to collaborate remotely for almost a year to expand and grow the department in Portugal until all work was handed over.The development has now moved successfully to Portugal. The first version of Allego's mobile charging app, Smoov, had a lot of issues and not fully working parts. This resulted in a lot of costumer dissatisfaction, which was reflected by an average rating of 1.8 in the Google Play and Apple App Stores.We rebuilt Smoov from the ground up. By integrating the new version more directly into the IT landscape and working with a dedicated team, we were able to release a new version that averages 4.0 on both app stores.

Development and support of several mobile applications, web interfaces and connected device bridges for Philips Research, in fields ranging from rapid prototyping via small-scale consumer-oriented to certified medical products. We use a wide variety of means, from proven technologies like Java and Swift for native applications, to newer techniques like React or React Native and Unity for augmented reality.
