Digital Technology Leadership ProgramGe Aviation Jul 2020 - Jul 2022Cincinnati, Ohio, United StatesMy first rotation in GE’s Digital Technology Leadership Program was technical product owner position in our Channels & Modeling organization. During my rotation I successfully developed a full backlog for a tool aimed to replace a legacy system and provide further stability and security of our data. Leveraging key learnings from a CSPO certification I received during this rotation was key as my development team faced rapid changes, one key one being a conversion from kanban to scrum framework in how we would approach developing the tool. Each sprint I was able to evaluate the effectiveness of our structured agile approach. I am currently in my second rotation as a cybersecurity analyst, assisting in miscellaneous efforts to keep a safe secure environment for our company as the current times demand for more virtual collaborations. -

Avionics & Digital Systems Co-OpGe Aviation Jan 2018 - May 2018Grand Rapids, MichiganInfra engineering/ digital systems co-op rotation with GE Aviation Systems, LLC in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Co-op was from January of 2018 to May of 2018.Largest accomplishment during my rotation was the improvements I implemented within the team’s flight plan snap projection, as my team focused on GE's Connected Flight Management System's development. This included creating an .xsl stylesheet to pull information from large .xml flight snap files, as well as a C# Windows forms app that contributed to improved user-experience when viewing flight plans. Benefits from the work on the flight management system includes the ability to update flight plans via tablet applications, access to data for Post-Flight data analytics, and more! Other assignments during rotation included MEMS (Micro-Electro Magnetic Systems) IMU testing, and developing an internal work instruction for a multithreaded processing/embedded programming tool. The MEMS IMU testing included helping team within GE conclude that our in-house IMU was in more effective than the 3rd party IMU in comparison. I performed gyro and accelerometer testing, and used the result from our scale factor parameter primarily to provide data on how GE’s IMU compared to theirs. Concluded this project with a test report. During the rotation, I became a member of GE’s African American Forum, the Early Career Professionals Organization, and GE Volunteers. I was also able to get into the community and find opportunities with youth to share my journey of engineering with, tutor, and mentor kids within their Urban League and Ottawa Hills High School. Utilized languages/technologies/platforms/frameworks/tools included C#, XML, XSL, HTML, Python, Github, Microsoft Visual Studio, Windows Forms App, INCHRON Tool-Suite, and more. -

FounderMitchell Senior Services, Llc 2014 - May 2015Service agency founded with intent to be of chore service to senior citizens within the community. I ended up partnering with Ms. Charletta Slaughter who did work within the National Church Residence's charitable organization, which is the nation's largest provider of affordable Senior Housing. Through her, I organized a program where senior residents living in the building she worked in got a chance to sit with me and learn how to use technology. They had recently got new computers for their technology lab, and many of the residents voiced that they wanted to learn basic functions of computers. Weekly, I would meet with residents for half hour sessions. Aside from that, there were various senior citizens outside of this senior housing building that I reached out to and served. With moving from Toledo, Ohio to Columbus, Ohio, Ms. Slaughter and I decided that it would be best to take time to re-plan on how I can lead much needed service for senior citizens in a bigger city alongside other students.
