I jumped into this position under a year after the department was created. We had a very new team with various skill sets. One of my teammates built out a SQL environment for the team before I joined which allowed me to apply my skill sets.I was able to utilize my manager's knowledge and experience in modifications, short sales, deed in lieu, and foreclosures to apply my SQL knowledge base and build department wide KPIs. On top of that, I was tasked to consolidate productivity reporting which saved three hours daily from analysts within the department. After completing this consolidation, I stepped up to lead meetings to share best practices among all of our teammates to reduce inefficiencies and redundancies.During an executive shift, my manager was tasked to take on more responsibilities. Because of this, my experience of building executive reporting at Post Closing put me in the position to take on the monthly business review. I am now responsible for communicating with four lines of business to build a report that describes the performance of National Mortgage Outreach to our business executive.

I entered the analyst department as entry level learning how to execute existing reports. I learned the best practices in my department and began to make connections with leaders in the business who needed enhancements to their current reports.One of our lead developers accepted another position a few months after I took this position. After the developer left, I stepped up to fulfill his roles and responsibilities. One of the responsibilities included building out a suite of executive reports to measure the quality of numerous products that drove our department's productivity. While building these reports, I worked hand-in-hand with a master black belt in six sigma and learned a vast amount of knowledge regarding key metrics that sustain successful businesses.After building out these reports, I was tasked with building a SharePoint site to support the workflow of a quality assurance team. The SharePoint site randomly selected a population of accounts to be reviewed by quality analysts that handled reviews, disputes, and final resolution. The SharePoint also automated the reporting that was previously handled by two full time associates who consulted on the project.In November 2011 I was offered a position in the National Mortgage Outreach program to oversee the reporting in three departments and produce executive reporting. It was a tough decision to make after spending three years with Post Closing, but I knew that the opportunities at National Mortgage Outreach and the help I could provide to customers in need would justify the choice.

During my time as a loan specialist, I reviewed FHA mortgage documentations to ensure that we had all that we needed from the customer to submit the loan for FHA insurance. Deficiencies were communicated to process support, underwriting, or corrected in house. After identifying deficiencies, the account would be passed off to another department for resolution.I discovered my passion for reporting and analytics during this role. The person who produced reports in our department was needed for other responsibilities and my knack for computers put me the next in line. I spent my downtime reverse engineering the reports to go beyond my role of just hitting the refresh button. After finding out how the reports worked, I started reverse engineering the database application that drove the reports. When our department went to a paperless workflow, we did not have the systems to support productivity tracking. I was able to build a database application for our department that tracked file review, resolution, and insurance based on what I learned. The application was used for over a year while the new workflow tool received its finishing touches.I am humbled by the trust I received from management in this position. I am proud of the opportunities my hard work provided for me. Senior management provided me an opportunity to take SQL classes which allowed me to build increasingly complex reports and eventually landed me a job in the Post Closing Reporting and Analytics department.
