For my career in engineering, I want to help develop and implement the newest technologies that move humanity to a sustainable future. I am fortunate enough to already be working on projects that I am proud of and I only want that trend to continue.My passion for engineering is rooted in who I am. From the start, I have always been interested in figuring out why certain aspects of inventions such as motorcycles or aircraft are designed the way that they are. I love working on projects and understanding the purpose for various aspects, but I have always been interested in simplifying designs to make a more superior and quality product. My time as a nuclear weapons technician in the Air Force helped to grow my scientific curiosity by being able to see unique challenges that engineers in the past have faced and what methods were used to solve them. Being surrounded every day by some of humanities most profound inventions let me know that my Air Force career was not all that there was for me. I wanted to be on the fore-front of developing or implementing tomorrow’s technologies that help humanity progress toward a better future.I moved to the Kansas City metro area and started pursuing my passion of becoming an engineer. Currently, I am a senior undergraduate student at UMKC. I also currently work as an undergraduate research assistant with the goal of developing a rapid heat extraction unit for small area, high heat flux applications in the Renewable Energy Research Lab at UMKC. I am set to get my Bachelors in May of 2020, but I plan to continue on to get my master’s following graduation.I have thoroughly enjoyed my progress toward becoming a successful engineering, and my passion for this field grows each day. Upon leaving Academia, I hope to get a career in the renewable energy sector. I am passionate about moving humanity toward a sustainable future, and I excited to be able to help get us there.
