Manager Wind Operations IDuke Energy Corporation Jul 2015 - Aug 2019Charlotte, North Carolina, UsCurrently I manage an operational service group of mobile technicians within the Duke Renewables Division. This group consists of traveling technicians who operate throughout the U.S. performing preventative maintenance, Commissioning, Scheduled Services, End of Warranty Walk downs, Operations and Maintenance support, Site Remediation, Oil changes, CBMS installs and a multitude of other support needs for wind farms. This group's focus is not just to support internal Duke sites, but also provide these same services to Owners, Manufacturers, and other ISPs within the wind industry who may need our help.Cultivating a safe working team that produces the highest quality of work in the industry is my greatest focus. The team consists of 40 technicians working on multiple jobs throughout the US. We work for a variety of different customers all with their own unique rules and expectations. The team averages 9 different job scopes concurrently around the country and we pride ourselves in the quality of the work we provide while being able to deliver a wide range of skill sets.I have enjoyed the previous years helping develop this team to what it is today and look forward to being a part of wind for many more years to come. -
Supervisor Wind OperationsDuke Energy Corporation Nov 2012 - Jul 2015Charlotte, North Carolina, UsWith the aquisition of Outland Energy Services I joined the Duke Renewable division. I continue to wear many hats within Duke, but my role has recently moved more towards our transactional 3rd party work. I handed off the 2 wind farms I previously managed in SW Minnesota to allow me to put more focus on our transactional work. Safety and quality is very important to me and my team. While managing those sites we kept a perfect safety record at them both with no accidents or injuries since we aquired their contracts in June of 2010. The 3rd party work I manage varies from vibration monitor installs, miscellaneous design modifications, scheduled services, EOW (End of Warranty) walkdowns, and oil changes. Our MOE(Mobile Oil Exchange) team is made up of two enclosed Sage Vac units with highly trained techs able to travel the country performing gearbox oil changes in all types of turbines throughout the U.S.Another big part of my role with Duke is fleet (trucks) management and tooling. On a high level I make sure that all is going as expected and the sites are receiving the support needed in those areas. Duke is a great employer and is full force moving forward with 3rd party work. I plan to continue to be a major part in their success in this area! If you want more information on what we can do for your wind or solar farm Please reach out! -
Account ManagerOutland Energy Services Aug 2007 - Nov 2012Canby, Mn, UsBegan as a technician commissioning Gamesa G87s in Iowa. Worked into operations and maintenance, as well as large component changes such as generators, blades and up tower transformers. I have had experience as a Site Safety Lead, an operations lead tech, a Project Manager and now an Account Manager. As an account manager I am the direct contact between Outland and the customer. Working with the technicians, other managers, the customer and directors to make sure everything is being done that needs to get done to run a wind farm efficiently. As an Account manager with Outland, I wear a number of hats here. I manage the operations and maintenance for a couple Vestas and NEG Micon sites that are in SW Minnesota. I manage the day to day operations of the mobile oil exchange unit which we use to change, flush, and rinse gearbox oil on all types of turbines around the United States. I am Outland's mentor for all of the new hires to help them transition into the field smoothly and to make sure we are molding the best of the best technicians in the industry. I also oversee the tool and inventory side of Outland which includes anything and everything dealing with tools, ppe, calibration, fleet trucks, maintenance cycles of the trucks, and the tracking of those items. As small transactional jobs come up I usually take those jobs from start to finish as well. Helping from the quoting of the job to execution of the work while communicating with the technicians performing the tasks to the finalizing of the invoicing to the customer. I love to wear the many hats that I do here with Outland. I can honestly say that we all do our part here within Outland and everybody is willing to help no matter where they are needed. What the guys do in the field to stay safe and to get the jobs done as well as they do is why Outland is where we are today. If you're looking for a great ISP to run your wind farm look no further than Outland! -
