Created a program using Python to provide a professional graphical user interface to streamline the process of defining boundary conditions for thermal CFD (including conduction, convection, and radiation), which continues to be used for these types of analyses today. Developed other Python-based GUI utilities to automate standard processes within the group. Led over ten 6 Sigma projects to improve cooling system processes and software, which delivered over $760k in engineering benefits. Became a certified 6 Sigma Black Belt (delivered over $500k in engineering benefits and trained at least three people as 6 Sigma Green Belts). Championed the creation of standard analysis process guidelines, authored three guidelines, and reviewed over 30 other guidelines for technical content, grammar, and formatting issues.

Provided cooling system analysis support for Large Mining Trucks, Global Paving, and Articulated Trucks through a combination of 1D cooling system analysis and 3D underhood CFD analysis using ANSYS Fluent. Led two 6 Sigma projects, one to determine the future path for cooling system analysis software for the team, and one to increase the capabilities of the current in-house tool. Organized the "Cooling Camp"​, a series of presentations provided by technical experts in cooling from across the corporation, and presented the 1D cooling system analysis session. Completed DMEDI / DMAIC 6 Sigma Black Belt training, and was one of only two people in a 36 student class to earn 100% on all weekly tests.

Responsible for cooling system analysis using 1D and 3D CFD (ANSYS Fluent) for Large Mining Trucks. Analyzed several cooling system configurations for the 785 truck in order to optimize the retarding capability, as well as meet the other cooling system goals for the four different truck variants. Utilized CFD to determine the root cause of an overheating issue on the 795F AC electric drive truck, and predicted the amount of cooling airflow required to keep temperatures below the material limits. Served as the Green Belt Facilitator on a 6 Sigma project to improve the accuracy of the in-house cooling performance software, formulated the equations necessary for the enhancement into a white paper, directed the software development, and served as the main beta tester. Served as a Green Belt on a project to integrate a commercial CFD meshing tool into an internal meshing pipeline by helping to determine robust meshing parameters that would result in high-quality meshes.
