I love to teach, and I am fascinated by adolescents. Perhaps this is because my own experience in adolescents was positive and transformative. Perhaps it is because adolescence are so impressionable. Perhaps it is because nobody else can figure adolescents out. Whatever the reason, I would like to dedicate my career to transforming the lives of as many adolescents as I can. History may seem like a boring subject to some people; however, I know that history has the power to teach students that every choice counts. Each choice has consequences, and when we learn to anticipate the consequences of our choices, we blossom into leaders, whose lives and decisions impact the world in extremely positive ways. Because I believe that a good teacher must touch the lives of her students beyond academics, I have invested my career choices in learning more about the spiritual and ethical development in adolescence. I believe this gives me a very unique perspective and approach to classroom methods.
