Jordan Crane is a creative director and designer with a history of bridging the worlds of art, technology, design and strategy across Media, Technology, Retail and Culture. His approach is based on a belief that people deserve better.While Chief Creative Officer at West, Jordan led creative and design development in partnership with inventive young companies such as Spring, IMPOSSIBLE FOODS, littleBits, GoFundMe, Airtime, and Prelude Fertility. Through his creative leadership while at Wolff Olins his team collaborated with Google on the conversational and responsive evolution of its identity system, the creation of the Google Express and Google Fiber brands, the Self-Driving Car Project, and Google Assistant. With Target, he helped to develop and implement a more people friendly brand architecture, an outcome of which was the creation and design of the impactful UP&UP brand. In 2009, Jordan also led and inspired a small army of designers, filmmakers, technologists and artists to re-position, re-imagine and re-boot one of the first internet brands; AOL. Jordan's passion for art, history, and culture fueled Wolff Olins' work for the Smithsonian, New Museum, Asian Art Museum, SFMOMA, The Nile Project, and New York City, which resulted in the creation of the iconic NYC identity. Other notable clients he has worked with are Intel, Belkin, Current TV, Univision, National Geographic, Expedia, Luxottica, and GE. For over eight years, he helped set the creative direction for Wolff Olins' own brand.His personal and professional work has been recognized by and appeared in: AIGA permanent collection, Smithsonian's Cooper-Hewitt Design Museum, Walker Art Center, Cannes Lions, D&AD, Fast Co. Design, Creative Review, Art Directors Club, Type Directors Club, Venice Biennial, Moscow Biennial of Design, Emigre, Designboom, WIRED, The New York Times and The Atlantic Monthly. He was also a speaker at the inaugural Brand New Conference.Jordan is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Cornell University.
