Lead the pricing strategy function within Finance, working with sales reps and leadership to effectively price prospective deals.

Supporting business unit leadership by providing thoughtful insights and developing strategic processes for better financial forecasting, investment analysis, and management reporting.

Responsible for building and managing the annual operating budget and quarterly re-forecast including a bottom-up build on revenue, cash, personnel expenses, vendor expenses, and depreciation/amortization. Lead monthly review of variance analysis to budget and re-forecast as well as reporting package to our private equity partners, which includes reporting on P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statement, customer and product churn, sales bookings, and headcount changes. Manage a financial analyst responsible for billing, collections, commissions, and the validity of Salesforce data entry. Work with senior leadership throughout the company to ensure accurate reporting and compliance to budget within departments. Contribute to planning and development of commission plans for account executives and sales leadership. Assist with the implementation of NetSuite and the CPQ price book into Salesforce.

In addition to responsibilities related to onboard revenue further described below, took on the responsibility of analyzing all shipboard crew costs, which includes wages, benefits, training, and travel. Led the monthly and quarterly review and analysis of variances between forecast, budget, and prior year. Facilitated the review of our long term plan including building templates, reviewing initiatives, and consolidating data for preparation for senior management. Contributed to the thorough review of our crew travel data and best practices to incorporate better efficiency between our schedulers and air purchasing departments.

Worked within the Management Accounting team with a focus on onboard revenue and provided support in other areas such as entertainment, guest and crew feeding, and hotel. Involved in the yearly plan and monthly forecast process, including providing review materials and variance explanations for senior management as well as presenting these materials. Built and maintained several existing reports to be compatible with implementation of Oracle R12 and Hyperion. Worked across operations and accounting teams to ensure an accurate monthly, quarterly, and yearly close. Closely involved with operations team on identifying problems or issues and engaging the proper people or groups to provide solutions. Led testing for Hyperion implementation for onboard revenue areas. Provided monthly reports to finance and operations leadership comparing results to both forecast and plan. Contributed to the process of moving from a concessionaire model with a vendor to an in-house model in the Holland America Line photo department.

Worked in a team setting to develop and maintain reports that helped identify customer profitability and assisted the sales and recruiting teams in business operations. Addressed ad-hoc requests and questions from operations that assisted customer negotiations. Maintained our local Access database with monthly data updates and troubleshot any problems or inconsistencies. Worked to combine data from sources such as PeopleSoft, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft Excel into one table that shows customer profitability to Volt that became the foundation for our budgeting and forecasting data. Contributed to the budgeting and forecasting process by assisting groups throughout the process and aided their ability to understand and facilitate the consolidation. Developed accurate data to add visibility into profit by location and business type in order to assist our sales and field teams in their business planning. Analyzed competitor information and compared key metrics to help understand the company’s performance versus competitor’s performance.
