Boat Captain And Tour GuidePursuit Collection May 2016 - Oct 2017Jasper, Alberta, CanadaWhile working with Brewster Travel Canada, I was delivering 2 hour long interpretive tours along Maligne Lake in Jasper, Alberta. This remote lake is accessible by one road and is located out of service, an hour from the town of Jasper. Each day we would prep the large diesel boats and have meetings to go over partners, plans and any safety concerns before getting our schedule of 3 or 4 tours. Each boat would contain 5-30 passengers which I was responsible for, either as the tour guide or the captain. Being able to offer an exciting and informative tour was paramount and I needed to have great knowledge of the area, as there were a lot of questions from people from all over the world. We were all trained my Transport Canada and did regular training.
