Sustainability Management Plan (PA). Prepared a Needs Assessment for the United States Army War College to evaluate existing operations and prepare an 18-24 month action plan to achieve sustainable performance across a 450-acre installation. Site visit reconnaissance included staff interviews, records analysis and building tours.Land Transfer and Demolition (VA). Directed and developed master planning documentation, Environmental Assessment and other hazardous materials documentation, Design-Build Request for Proposal and technical specifications, and Concept Plans for Demolition, Construction, and Site Preparation. Presented before multiple Federal, state, and local government agencies, stakeholder organizations, and the public. The team successfully met numerous deadlines for submission and coordination with multiple federal, state and local agencies. LEED Certification Study (VA). Developed a feasibility study to assess LEED EB: O&M 2009 certification for a 55,000 SF building. Project documentation included building systems test reports, retro-commissioning plan and estimated cost of LEED certification.Sustainability Handbook (Nationwide). Developed a guide to streamline sustainability policies, efforts, and standards for worldwide NASA facilities. Includes proposed agency policies and facility design, maintenance, and operational guidance. Handbook supports compliance with federal standards and achieving LEED certification.Sustainable Building Inventory (Nationwide). Designed and carried out the first-ever High Performance and Sustainable Buildings Inventory Assessment of NASA facilities to inventory facilities, establish baseline information, and begin to identify appropriate facilities for sustainability investments.Unit Relocation Study (PA). Directed the development of a Planning Proposal for relocating Marine Safety Unit Pittsburgh of the US Coast Guard. Project included coordination of environmental documentation and cost estimates for six sites.

Developed policy and practice innovations from analysis of local and regional planning issues regarding economic development, housing, environmental, and education issues. The analysis directly supported issue advocacy in the media and to state and local government representatives.Acted as liaison and technical support to a statewide advocacy network regarding housing, transportation, environmental, and social equity issues. The network empowered and engaged underrepresented populations and local government leaders across the state.

Identified new economic development initiatives and opportunities through research and analysis of industrial capacity and academic achievement. Compiled, integrated and analyzed data from sources including the Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Bureau of Economic Analysis, Department of Housing and Urban Development, state and local governments, and business organizations.

Analyzed impacts on local government budgets and property taxes from land preservation, residential, and commercial development projects. Presented the analysis, findings and lessons learned during public meetings that provided the foundation to empower the local community members to engage their government representatives.Evaluated viability for multiple neighborhood redevelopment plans and presented results to local government officials, resulting in plan approval and construction.Led instruction, prepared curriculum, and developed materials for Urban Planning graduate courses.
