About Jordan Gerard

I am the government accountability reporter for The Oklahoman in Oklahoma City. I currently cover state government and politics. I covered the 2024 legislative session (and survived my first tornado season), and I also cover various topics that intersect with government. Those have included criminal justice, immigration, domestic violence, minimum wage and education, among other topics. Loves deep dives into documents and fun go-rounds with data.Former editor of two weeklies in Minnesota, The Caledonia Argus and Spring Grove Herald. My heart lies and dies with print, and print is not dead until the last newspaper stops printing.ASU Cronkite graduate with a masters degree in investigative journalism, earned Fall 2023 and graduated with distinction. Winona State University graduate of 2015 and "Most Outstanding Mass Comm Student."Wanna-be beach bum, mountains are good, cares entirely too much for hiking, horses and paddle boarding. Occasionally patches together a quilt or puzzle. Lover of coffee and craft beverages. Has a particular distaste for winter and cold climates.
