Data analyst and policy graduate, with a passion for evidence-based policy making and evaluation. Currently working as a data analyst in the liquor industry, I am open to work in the policy space where I can apply both my programming skills and my sociological analytical skills to contribute to policy programs that benefit my community. Having recently completed the 'Fundamentals of Data Analytics with Python' course at Monash University, I have already begun building a solid skills and knowledge base in data cleaning, wrangling and visualisation with Python. Since beginning work as a data analyst at OnTap Data I have also expanded my skills base to include performing these tasks in several other languages and software programs, such as SQL, Tableau, Board and Microsoft Excel. My sociological/political educational background has also given me a solid base in technical writing and ethical analysis. I have had practice using software and systems that enable code-writing and sharing in teams (Bitbucket, Sourcetree, Github). Alongside building new skills, I am keen to continue building upon my current skills in critical thinking, ethics, report-writing, and communication by applying them in a technology-specific context. I believe my strong communication, organising, creating, research and writing skills are highly transferable to Data Analytics. My work as an organiser and activist has equipped me with the ability to work under pressure, to communicate effectively and build meaningful relationships with stakeholders, and to develop learning content and present it effectively to a wide range of audiences.
