Project management responsibility of marine construction projects across South Australia.

Recruited to join the Design Authority team in France for the Australian Future Submarine program. Underwent intensive French language training in Adelaide and quickly reached a highly functional B1 level. Expatriated to Cherbourg in August 2020 and joined the ‘Life on Board’ platform systems department. Conducted design studies and systems engineering activities on the Black Water Treatment system. Also worked closely with the Waste Compactor, Waste Ejector and Refrigeration Plant bi-grams. Analysis of subcontractor design proposals as well as regular liaison during procurement activities.

Recruitment and management of fruit picking employees and coordination of harvesting logistics. Contract negotiations with wineries, packing companies and equipment and material suppliers. Construction, operation, maintenance and repairs of infrastructure, farm machinery and irrigation systems.

Full design and project management responsibility of 7 multilayer geomembrane liner and floating cover water reservoir projects with a collective value of over 5 million dollars. My involvement in projects commenced at the tendering stage and continued through until final acceptance meaning that I had exposure to the full project life cycle. My scope of works included estimating, technical design work, schedule development, procurement of materials, the development of safety and QA documentation, site preparations, progress and budget reporting as well as client, crew and subcontractor management.

Manage all operational aspects involved in delivering the internationally telecast World Tennis Challenge. Development of budgets and schedules to ensure smooth and cost efficient event execution. Management of 15 different subcontractors and approximately 50 volunteer staff members.

Negotiations with various subcontractors in both English and Spanish. Quality inspections of products constructed and purchased in Spain before shipment to Australia. Management of the product baseline and all configuration management documentation. Liason between ASC senior management in Australia and Navantia senior management in Spain.

Providing a single point of contact for AWD change management within ASC’s business. Leading ASC’s business units to compile, assess and review Engineering Change Proposals. Managing the improvement of the change process, plans and documentation. Development of Work Breakdown Structures and Change Implementation Strategies. Liaising with department stakeholders on a regular basis (Chief Engineer, Planning Manager, Support System Manager, Test and Activation Manager, Supply Chain Manager). Liaising with the Estimator, Scheduling department and Risk Manager to support the development of cost, schedule and risk impacts associated with change. Ensure design change is effectively incorporated into production work packs. Acting as the project lead on small to medium multi-discipline tasks involving persons from different organisations, departments or groups.
