Jordan Grider is a passionate creative who grew up in a family of gamers and nerds. She fell in love with video games from a young age, playing games like Myst, Total War, and MediEvil with both of her parents since before she could walk. Jordan is currently majoring in Game Design and Development at UW-Stout, where she won a “Best Art and Design” award for game “The Manor '' as team lead and head artist. At Stout, she has made the Dean's List for every semester, and is an active member of the Honors College. She has an interest and ability in a broad range of design disciplines. She’s taken classes covering topics including 3D modeling, digital painting, pixel art, portrait drawing, animation, and more. Jordan has also taken part in multiple International Game Developers Association sponsored game jams, and helped take home the Fall 2021 “Best Gameplay” award alongside programmer Daniel Johnsen with her art and animations. Inspired by science fiction and fantasy, she has always loved fictional worlds and creative storytelling. Despite doing well in more traditional school subjects, Jordan had always wanted to work in a creative industry. After finding an interest in art in middle school and making simple platformers and visual novels from Youtube tutorials in high school, she decided that she wanted to make it her career. Jordan’s main passion is character design, but finds joy in all creative fields. She loves all genres and styles of games, from fantasy tabletop roleplaying games, to science fiction first person shooters, to cozy puzzle games.
