About Jordan Hebler

From an early age I knew what type of industry I wanted to pursue. It all started with video games on consoles like Xbox and Playstation and worked its way to the desktop computer. Games on a PC seemed to outperform a console, plus they had far more customizable features. This led to my curiosity of how these computers were actually working. I did some research and found that these games, at a low level, were multiple computer programs communicating with each other. From there I started with the C language and was determined to become a programmer.Fast forward to my adult years, I am now a college student pursuing a degree in computer science. From the start of my college programming courses, I have been incredibly passionate about writing clean and efficient code. After my 2nd year at the University of Minnesota - Duluth, I was asked to be a tutor for computer science courses. I was honored to take this position and seen it as an opportunity to share my passion and interests with other students.After being exposed to the various fields of the IT world in college, I am finding an interest in the software development field. I took a software engineering course at UMD and it was by far the most fun I've had in a college class. I collaborated with 4 other students on a scrum team and engaged in weekly sprints to develop an Android Studio application in Java. The whole process was exciting and it gave me a whole new perspective of the types of jobs I could pursue after college.
