I was responsible for responding to various customer calls and requests and organising daily work schedules for the engineers. Through this I learned how to prioritise competing tasks and manage my time accordingly. I adapted quickly to this new working environment and formed a strong appreciation of how to deliver a quality customer service and meet customer expectations. I was responsible for implementing a change in collating customer details - making better use of modern technology and online databases. I was able to contribute to a business improvement and learn the importance of improving time and cost efficiency first-hand. I became more practiced on software packages such as Excel and Sage 50 accounts. This allowed me to apply skills that I had learned at university in a practical working environment. I built a strong rapport with colleagues and customers resulting in a collaborative and productive working environment.

I was responsible for delivering a high-quality customer service in a fast pace working environment. This role involved food and drink service, adhering to customer requests, advising on menus, and building relationships with returning customers. I developed strong interpersonal and communication skills and an ability to manage competing tasks with pace and efficiency.

I worked as a lounge host at St Mirren Park in the stadium’s hospitality venue. I displayed good organisation, time management and quality customer service in order to provide the fast-paced service necessary to fit around football matches. I recognised the importance in delivering a service that was high-quality given that guests were paying a premium price. I demonstrated the ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of varying customer requests, such as dietary requirements. I was also trusted to train and develop new members of staff due to my consistent high standard of work and leadership skills. This role provided me with a great deal of confidence in people-management and I was able to use my emotional intelligence to influence the staff in a positive and encouraging manner.
