So far, we haven't managed to convert the world to "auto pilot", completely. Most of us are in need of a pilot...or a co-pilot, to guide us in the direction we want to go. Taking off can feel anxiety provoking. Every once in awhile the trip can be bumpy... there can be emergencies in flight...but getting to the final destination is often a relief. Living on the plane is not necessary...it's a means to an end. Fly when you need to...fly if you'd like to... I like to join my clients as their "co-pilot", in life. I sit beside them as they navigate through life's ups/downs and help them focus in on a soft and safe landing. Through attentive, reflective listening, coupled with validation and affirmation, my clients are able to rebuild their sense of self, leading them to make more effective choices in their lives, overall. Clients leave counseling feeling as though the trips they have taken had purpose in their journey and that those in the future will too be destinations they can make sense of and find peace.
